Why is this man wearing a pith helmet at the drive-in?

Andrew Tevanian of the Prides Corner Drive-In has started a series of videos to promote his family business. He puts his fearless brand of eccentricity to its highest and best use in the short clips. In the above piece, promoting the latest dinosaur flick, he sports safari clothes and binoculars as he warns us all of the impending celluloid T. rex attack.

I met him a couple summers ago working on a project about the future of Maine’s remaining drive in theaters. He couldn’t have been more pleasant.

My wife and I saw Mad Max there a few weeks back and I could hear him bantering with customers in the snack bar from outside. He gleefully ends every transaction with a bellowing “thank you.”

So, keep your eye on his Facebook page this summer to see what’s coming up next. The videos are almost as good as the movies themselves.
